Work · three roles

Three kinds of work, one way of looking

First get clear what is really going on, then move. A go or a no-go after every step — even when that makes the assignment smaller.

01

Benelux market entry

For investors and their European portfolio companies that want to grow in the Netherlands and the Benelux, but will not hire there yet. I open the market, sell in Dutch, and hand over once local revenue pays for its own team. No report that disappears in a drawer, but a decision you can take.

Area: the Netherlands first, Belgium and Luxembourg next.

Step 01

The signal

The question

Is the Benelux on your roadmap, but not on your hiring plan?

The outcome

A first conversation with five or six Dutch lookalikes of your current customers. Names, not a market report.

Go or no-go

Do the names make sense to you? Then we start small.

Step 02

Prospect list

The question

Who are the first customers and partners, and how do we reach them?

The outcome

30 to 50 Dutch target companies, scored on fit, with the route, the local rules and the partners on both sides of the market.

Go or no-go

Is there enough here to test? If not, it stops here — and you hear it from me, not on page 40 of a report.

Step 03

Three-month pilot

The question

Does it work with real customers?

The outcome

I make the calls, in Dutch, and run the first meetings myself. A small retainer plus commission on closed revenue.

Go or no-go

Is there traction — meetings, pilots, a first contract? Then we scale.

Step 04

Scale or hand over

The question

Who does this when I am gone?

The outcome

More hours while it grows. Once local revenue pays for a team: first hires, pipeline, playbook and contacts handed over.

Go or no-go

Does it run for a quarter without me? Then the job is done. If not, I stay until it works.

02

Fractional CCO & CMO

Commercial leadership for Dutch startups and scale-ups that cannot yet carry a full-time director. I set up positioning, proposition and pipeline, and run the first customer conversations myself. Four phases, with a go or a no-go after each:

  • Diagnosis. Where is the revenue, and why is it not coming out?
  • Attack plan. The three things that bring in the most revenue, on one page.
  • Execution. I run the first customer conversations myself. What works stays, what does not goes.
  • Handover. Method, material and contacts to your own people.
